COOL GLOBES IN WASHINGTON! "CoolGlobes: Hot Ideas for a Cooler Planet," is an exciting project that uses the medium of public art to inspire individuals and organizations to take action against global warming. After being exhibited in Chicago in the summer of 2007, the Cool Globes (some of which are 5-feet in diameter) come to the Botanic Garden in Washington, DC (May 24 - October 13 2008) and also the Kennedy Center. Four of the Globes will be on display at the National Mall during the Earth Day event on April 20th. Stay tuned for how these will be auctioned off to benefit Earth Day Network's national green schools campaign. EARTH DAY NETWORK JOINS FORCES WITH THE CENTER FOR ENVIRONMENTAL EDUCATION The Center for Environmental Education (CEE), founded by Earth Day Network Board member Jayni Chase, is an acclaimed organization devoted to the creation of environmentally healthy schools where children learn how to choose sustainable lifestyles. Now, CEE and Earth Day Network will join their resources and expertise to make sure that every child learns in a healthy environment. This will make us the leading organization on greening schools in the US. NEW ON EARTH DAY TV! On April 16th, tune in to the broadcast of Chill Out: Campus Solutions to Global Warming, sponsored by Earth Day Network organized by the National Wildlife Federation and ClimateCounts.org student-made videos, inspiring presentations from contest winners, solution-focused discussions, and live Q&As with people who really are changing the world.
