Fuhua Primary School's Principal, Vice-Principals, Teachers, Students, School Administrators, Canteen Staff, Cleaners, Security Guards and Parent Support Group participated in the celebration of Earth Day 2008.
The School's Earth Day 2008 theme is "We've Got the Whole World in Our Hands." Everyone's palm was traced on the newspapers with Earth Day messages written by each individual person. The palm templates were cut and pasted on a large sheet of paper and the earth globe was the centrepiece.
The concept of the theme is to reach out to everyone in every corner of the earth to work hand in hand in saving the earth by reducing, recycling, reusing materials preventing pollution and also conserving energy, water, gas and natural resources. Together as one united people, we can strive for a common goal and purpose in saving our planet earth in order to make it a better place for our children and future generations.
Everyday is Earth Day in Fuhua Primary School. The school has in place recycling programmes for the students, the school members, parents and community. In every class a designated student, called recycle leader, is in-charge of the recycling activities for the class.
The school's library also uses recycled materials for their weekly craft activities with the students.
Let us work together hand in hand in saving our earth from global warming, pollution and deforestation. Use only what we need and reduce, recycle and reuse. "We've got the whole world in our hands" and it's up to us to make this world a better place for everyone, especially the children and the next generation. Together we can make a difference.
On behalf of Fuhua Primary School's Principal, Vice Principals,Staff Members, Teachers, Students,Parent Support Group and I would like to wish all of you excellent years ahead. Happy Earth Day!
Yours Truly,
Ogeey M Lee
