One of the most important challenges we have in this new era is how to improve the efficiency of the agriculture water use. Agriculture alone consumes 70% of the world's water and compites for it with industrial and domestic sectors. Increases in the population spur concerns about the food security of individual nation states, and even more in those poor countries that are located in water-scarce regions. What kind of policies could be implemented to achive this goal?
