Bug Daze Family Festival

Celebrate Earth Day at the Virginia Museum of Natural History at the annual Spring festival, Bug Daze, on April 19, 2008, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. This event features fun and educational displays of unusual insects, crustaceans, arachnids and more, highlighting the roles of various bugs in people's everyday lives. Festival-goers will learn more about bed bugs, termites and other potential household pets.

Exhibitors at the festival include Dr. Richard Hoffman, curator of recent invertebrates at VMNH and Meredith Cassell, president of the Alwood Society Entomology Student Organization at Virginia Tech. Arthur V. Evans, research associate for the department of entomology at the National Museum of Natural History, Smithsonian Institution, will also be on hand at the festival for an exciting presentation.
