Steeply sloped

As we approached the hike’s peak, the slope became much more treacherous and steeply sloped. We came to a rocky pass where they had to carve steps into the stone in order to continue the assent. These steps were steep and slightly unnerving. There were a few members of the group who were fearful of heights but we all managed to make it to the top of the 117 steps to the top! It was a hot, humid day out yet a sense of accomplishment greeted all.

“Climb the mountains and get their good tidings. Nature's peace will flow into you as sunshine flows into trees. The winds will blow their own freshness into you and the storms their energy, while cares will drop off like autumn leaves.” ~ John Muir
